TAFF ASSURED MIXED FARM LTD PROMOTING BEE KEEPING
The company has so far accessed one loan from MSC of 30 million and has utilized the funds well. Before the company received funds from MSC, it was not registered. But with the support and guidance from MSC Lira office, the SME registered and signed a one year contract with Enterprise Uganda for training of farmer groups. Each group is composed of 60 farmers.
Initially, the company was only producing bee wax and honey but after accessing funding from MSC, it now produces propolis that is used in the cure of some illnesses and each 10 ml bottles is sold at 20,000 shillings. The company's products were proved to meet the European standard. This has contributed to the increase in demand for the company's honey and wax. TAF Assured has mobilized bee keepers to form a Cooperative in order to increase the production of honey which they plan to export to the European market.
