The government has pledged to recapitalize the Microfinance Support Centre. This was revealed by the Minister of State for Microfinance Hon: Haruna Kyeyune Kasole who was guest at the End of Year Staff Retreat held on Friday 15th July 2016 at Wash and Wills Hotel Mbale. The Minister pledged his support to the company in its endeavour to achieve its overall goal of increasing productivity, incomes and employment opportunities through provision of affordable financial services. He said that microfinance was one of the engine that would deliver the country to the middle income status.

During the function Staff who excelled in performance in various areas during the financial year were recognized.

During the retreat, Staff also reviewed strategic review the Strategic Plan 2014 - 2019 and devised strategies to ensure the plan is successfully implemented.

During the retreat, Mr. Samuel Bakutana a motivational speaker encouraged Staff to unlock their inner potential, encouraged them to keep healthy by doing exercises every morning, motivate themselves by keeping a positive mind, feed their spiritual side and have positive relationships that will benefit the organization.

The Staff also participated in corporate social responsibility initiative and cleaned the Mbale Market. The company also donated cleaning equipment that included wheel barrow, racks, spades and brooms to the market.

Staff also participated in team building activities that included sack race, conjoined race and traditional dances selected kingdoms in Africa.
